Happy Birthday to Revive with Black Bean Birthday Cake
September 2016 marks Revive Wellness’s 10th Anniversary and we are marking the occasion with a special recipe – Black Bean Birthday Cake!
Ingredients:
Cake
- 1 can of unsalted black beans (approx. 15 oz. each)
- 3 eggs
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. salt
- ½ cup of butter or coconut oil
- ½ cup of honey
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
Chocolate Drizzle Topping
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 325 °F.
- Combine beans and eggs into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
- Pour into a bowl and combine with remaining cake ingredients and mix well.
- In a cake pan, coat the sides with cocoa.
- Cut a circle in parchment and line the bottom of the pan.
- Pour the cake batter into the cake pan.
- Bake for 40 minutes.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool.
